Location and economic
The municipality is located in the "Land van Maas en Waal ", west of Beuningen and east of West Maas en Waal, on the south bank of the River Waal. The nearest major town is Nijmegen. The main road is the main road to Nijmegen N322, south of Waaldeichs.
The economy of the municipality is supported by agriculture, and small businesses in the capital Druten.
History
All five Kirchdörfer the community probably originated in the 10th or 11th century. The village Deest was accidentally hit by a V1 on 3 February 1945. Here, the center was heavily damaged. In 1995, the dikes of the Waal threatened to break and had all community residents to be evacuated temporarily. In 1996, the dikes were raised.
