The Dry River is a river in Jamaica. It runs through the Parish of Saint Mary.

Source

The source of the river is in an area named Cocoa Wood, on the border between the two Parishes of Saint Mary and Portland. It is formed from ten streams that flow in both states. The highest of these sources is on the east side of Telegraph Mountain at an altitude of about 1200 meters. He is part of a mountain chain with the name Grand Ridge, a spur of the Blue Mountains.

History and Infrastructure

The Dry River passed several small villages during its course. It runs from the Grand Ridge, along the Mount Joseph, with some slight turns north and flows west from the village of Golden Grove Fig Tree Bay in the Caribbean Ocean.

The largest river flowing into the Dry River, is the May River.

About the Dry River lead a total of four bridges. The first is located in Timsberry where the river runs from east to west. The second transfer is in neighboring Enfield. The other two bridges are found only near the ocean. About one of the bridges leading the A4, which connects Kingston with Annotto Bay. With another is a railway line.
