Drying tube

The dry pipe is a straight, angled or U- shaped glass tube, at one end usually is a standard ground, the second end is open. There are embodiments with and without tap plug.

Filling

It fills the drying tube first with some cotton wool, then with solid drying agents ( eg, calcium chloride or silica gel) and " closes " the open end then again with some cotton wool.

Use

The drying tube is placed over the standard ground on vessels ( eg round flasks ) or apparatus, in which there are moisture sensitive or hygroscopic substances that are to be protected against humidity.
