Drymobius

Drymobius margaritiferus

The racing snakes ( Drymobius ) are a genus of snakes. The four species live mainly in Mexico and Central America. Some of these snakes are also found in Texas or in South America, such as Brazil.

Reach racing snakes grown a length of 70 to 100 cm. Their colors and patterns differ in their kinds, the snakes are diurnal and live in heavily forested areas usually close to the water. Their diet consists mostly of frogs and toads. Racing snakes mate in spring and early summer lay six to eight eggs in her clutch. The young hatch after about 2 months from the eggs and are 15 to 20 cm long.
