Du'a Kumayl

You ʿ ā ʾ Kumail (Arabic: دعاء كميل, Supplication of Kumail ') is a supplication, which plays a very important role in the Shiite piety until today. Every night there is quoted solemnly in the mosques of Iran, which lasts for about an hour. This prayer is so closely associated with the identity of Twelver Shiism, that it was publicly read at the funeral of Iranian revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and commented on this in the Persian language. ʿ Alī ibn Abī Taalib said to have passed to receive this prayer of Khidr and Kumayl ibn Ziyad (d. 82/701 ).
