Du riechst so gut

August 24, 1995 (first published ), April 17, 1998 ( re-release )

You smell so good is a song by German - New German Hardness music group Rammstein, the first single from her album Herzeleid and thus the debut single of the band, which was first published on 24 August 1995. It was produced by Jacob Hellner and Carl -Michael Herlöfsson.

Background

You smell so good was already included on a demo tape, which gave the band for a competition organized by the Berlin Senate. The song has often been associated with the book Perfume by Patrick Süskind, on which it is based. For the first time the piece on 14 April 1994 was played live in Leipzig. It quickly evolved into a live often played song. During live performances elaborate show effects were often intertwined. So a bow was swung during the longing tour of Till Lindemann, the sparks in all directions suggested, as Lindemann turned it around him. This effect was later used in other songs. On the dam tour, the song was not played, but probably during the following circuits.

On 17 April 1998, the song was re-released as You smell so good '98.

Music videos

In the first, lack of money very simple music video that was filmed in the summer of 1995 with Emanuel Fialik, is to first see a dog and then the flower of the single cover. The band members appear shirtless and " slit glasses " in front of a white background. The second video shows the band members in 1998 as werewolves that follow a young woman to a castle. It was taken between the 20th and 25th April 1998 Philipp Stölzl in Potsdam- Babelsberg and a hunting lodge in Berlin- Pankow.
