Dual in-line package#Single-in-line

Single In - Line Package (SIP to German " single-row housing " ) is in the electronics a housing design for integrated circuits, which denotes a component with a pin number. The design is part of the through hole technology components.

Applications

SIP package were very often used in times of 286 PCs for memory chips until they were replaced by the Single Inline Memory Module design. Other applications were resistor networks and other electronic devices as well as simple ( from today's perspective ) Integrated Circuits.

For wiring of

Pin 1 is usually provided with a bar, a point or rarely with a number. Pin 1 is switched to ground or to supply voltage, while the resistors to each line are placed.
