Duality is a song by American alternative metal band Slipknot. It was a pre-release single from the third album Vol 3: decoupled ( The Subliminal Verses ).

Music Video

The music video was filmed under the direction of Tony Petrossian and is about 40 seconds shorter than the album version. Petrossian has also directed the videos for the songs Slipknot Before I Forget, Vermillion and Vermillion Pt. 2 Director. Production costs bertrugen 300,000 to 500,000 U.S. dollars. It was shot the video in an isolated house in Des Moines, Iowa on March 27, 2004. The video shows the band perform the song in the building. From all sides people to flock to the system and try to get into the house. The euphoric mass succeeds by entering the doors and smashed the windows, with items to get into the house and up close to watch the tape when threading Dualitys.

Others

The song was nominated in 2005 Performance at the 47th Grammy Awards in the Best Hard Rock Category. However, the award went to Velvet Revolver Slither for the song. Furthermore, there was the music video at the Kerrang! Awards 2004 nominated in the Best Video category. This time Slipknot were beaten by HIM, who won the award for Furenal of Hearts.

The song is standard on Slipknot concerts and has so far been presented over 200 times live.

Percussionist Shawn Crahan used in the song a baseball bat for his drum.

The song 3 is used in the video games Madden NFL 10 and ATV Offroad Fury.
