Dublin City F.C.

The Dublin City Football Club is a football club from Dublin, Ireland. The club played from 1972 to July 2006 in the League of Ireland until 2001, however, under the name Home Farm and Home Farm Everton.

History

Home Farm was a traditional youth and junior club, the 1972 license and the stadium of the traditional club Drumcondra acquired and expanded as in professional football. From the still existing youth department, remains one of the most prestigious in Ireland, they parted soon.

Back in 1975 succeeded the first and hitherto only major success of the club, the victory in the Irish Cup; in the European Cup Winners' Cup they failed, however, already in the first round.

Home Farm was never able to finish a season of major league in the top half of the table. Upon introduction of the lower division, the First Division, a descent was able to avoid, but could not prevent the descent in the 1986/87 season. The club has since remained mostly in the First Division, only two times you played for one year each in the Premier Division. The mid- 1990s involved the Everton FC of the English Premier League at the club and used it to build up young players. Therefore, the name changed to Home Farm Everton. 2000 ended the participation Everton and the management of the club decided to change the name of the Association in Dublin City.

After climbing 2005 Dublin City played in the 2006 in the Premier Division, retired but returned because of financial problems on 19 July 2006 from the game.
