The Dublin City University (Irish Ollscoil Átha Cliath Chat Hair Bhaile ), one of the four universities of Dublin, located in the district Glasnevin in the north of the Irish capital Dublin. Characteristic of the University are primarily the modern campus, but also the relatively high number of research projects as well as the young age.

At present, about 10,000 students studying at the university, in addition 440 employees.

The Dublin City University Business School is part of the high school network International Partnership of Business Schools, offering double degree programs, among others with the ESB Business School.

History

The Dublin City University was founded in 1975 as the National Institute for Higher Education; The first students enrolled in 1980. 1989, finally, the Dublin City University was officially elevated to the rank of a university. The first rector was Danny O'Hare, who held the presidency of the University until 1999. The second ( and current ) Rector (President) is Ferdinand von Prondzynski who is a native German.
