Dubrovnik Airport ( kroat.: Zračna luka Dubrovnik) is the airport of the Croatian port of Dubrovnik and is located 20 km southeast of Dubrovnik and about 5 km southeast of Cavtat.

History

The Dubrovnik airport was opened on 15 May 1962 the charter flights and on July 15, 1962 regular services.

In 1991, the airport in the Battle of Dubrovnik was almost completely destroyed. In the years 1992 to 1997, the airport was rebuilt.

Currently ( since 2005) of the airport is being rebuilt and expanded; Work is expected to be completed by 2011.

Airlines and destinations

The Croatian Croatia Airlines connects the airport all year round with the capital Zagreb and other destinations within Europe. More scheduled flights offers, among other Austrian Airlines to Vienna and German Wings, Lufthansa, easyJet, Condor and Germania to Germany. In the context of many European tour operators fly numerous airlines as a charter to Dubrovnik.

Approach

The airport is located near the village of Čilipi in the community Konavle Cavtat, 20 km south-east from the center of Dubrovnik. The airport is on the road 8

Bus: There is a regular bus service from Atlas Travel Agency from the central bus station in Dubrovnik old town with a stop near the airport ( timetables are including in the tourist office and bus station ). Leaves from the airport after arrival of each line and the low-cost airline Atlas transfer bus to Dubrovnik and holds first in the old town and then at the bus station in the port Gruz. The price for a single journey is 35 kunas (June 2013).
