Ducati 750 GT

The Ducati 750 GT was a motorcycle model from the Italian manufacturer Ducati.

It was introduced in 1970 and was the first production motorcycle from Ducati V- engine. The small frontal area of her built with a transverse to the direction of crankshaft two-cylinder engine enabled a low air resistance. The arrangement with a holding located in the driving direction and a vertical cylinder ensured the proper cooling of the rear cylinder. The open bottom steel frame integrated engine and gearbox housing as a load-bearing element.

For the 200-mile race at Imola, which was advertised for basis of mass production 750cc racing motorcycles, 1972, a racing version was constructed. The prestigious race on which some other factory teams took part with more notable riders for Ducati was won with the victory of Paul Smart and Bruno Spaggiari 's second place and at the same time set up the record for the fastest lap. Ducati has already provided before the race for attention, because the motorcycles had been transported in a truck with glass walls to Imola. The desired advertising effect occurred and Ducati 1973 first produced a small series of certifiable 750 SS Replica Imola. The vertical lines on the both sides of the tank which had also later SS models were a recess of the coating, by which the level of the transparent GRP tanks could be read. In Germany, these tanks were not allowed and had to be replaced by metal tanks.

On the following series production of the 750 SS closed in 1975, developed from this 900 SS. Variants of the model were built until 1986.
