Duchess Agnes of Württemberg

Princess Agnes of Württemberg, married. Pauline Louise Agnes Princess of Reuss younger line ( born October 13, 1835 in Bad Carlsruhe; † July 10, 1886 at Castle Osterstein in Gera ) was a member of the German nobility. Under the pseudonym Angelica Hohenstein she was also active as a writer.

Life

Agnes of Württemberg was born as a daughter of Duke Eugen of Württemberg, a famous general of the Napoleonic Wars, and the Princess Helene of Hohenlohe- Langenburg at Schloss Carlsruhe. On February 6, 1858, she married in Carlsruhe the reigning Prince Heinrich XIV Reuss Younger Line, the couple had two children:

Agnes of Württemberg founded numerous foundations and institutions that bore their names, such as the Agnes School, a school for female servants in Gera.

It is buried in the crypt of the Princely Mount St. Mary's Church in Schleiz.
