Duell (chess)

Tactix is a chess variant. It is played with dice on a 9x9 board. Tactix a new edition of Schmidt games of the Parker game " Duel" from 1975 with slightly different rules (for example, used a duel 8x9 board).

On both games include nine dice per player. Of which each carry eight normal cube points 1-6 and one of the so-called king dice, only ones. The only other material is a board of eight times nine (for " duel " ) and nine times nine (for " Tactix " ) squares whose sides are provided with an edge. About this edge can be the cube whose edges are milled tilt without any problems, and that is the allowable motion method.

A cube so many fields may be far tilted per train, as he shows at the beginning of eyes. Here, a one-time, right-angled turn is allowed. The starting grid for both players is in the middle of the king dice and then next to him from the inside out a "six ", "two ", a "one" and " five" on top of the cube, which lie so have that the "Three" to the player and the " four" points to opponents.

Is Beaten like in chess: You can reach the end of the train to the pitch of an enemy " figure", removed it and pick up with their own " character" their place. Besides the size of the playing field and the color of the cube, there is another difference between " Duel" and " Tactix ": In " Tactix " the king can beat other "figures", in "Duel " is not.

The aim of the game is to either capture your opponent's king dice or to reach the starting field of the opponent's king with his own king dice. The royal box must not be kept a long train, so that a " ceiling " of this field, to propose an incoming king immediately, so this would have lost, is meaningless. Sufficient Reaching the field.

This rule reduces the run of play, because you just do not have to ensure that the target field is also still unthreatened. Nevertheless, there are at " Tactix " an even shorter variant in which it is sufficient to reach the midfield with the king dice.
