Professional career

Lois first professional fight was on November 1, 1948 against Nino Frangioni, he clearly defeated on points. Before he fought on August 18, 1952 at the European Championships at lightweight, he had a record of 35 wins, two draws and no defeat. Jørgen Johansen then defeated him in his first European championship bout on August 18, 1952. Loi had therefore again only deny a few set-up fights, including against Ernesto Formenti, until he got a rematch against Jørgen Johansen on February 6, 1954, he then clearly won on points. He defended his title until 1958 against strong opponents such as Bruno Visintin or Jacques Herbillon.

In 1959 he moved to the welterweight division and won against Emilio Marconi in this weight class the European title. He then lost in June 1960 against then Welterweight World Champion Carlos Ortiz just on points. In the rematch on September 1, 1960, he defeated Ortiz and was now both world and European champions. He defended his title against Maurice Auzel, Christian Christensen and again against Carlos Ortiz. Against Eddie Perkins, however, he managed only a draw. Then he played some construction fights until he took up again vs. Eddie Perkins. This fight in September 1962, he lost, but then won the rematch direct and took a month later in January 1963 at the age of 33 from boxing as the reigning world and European champions back.
