The Duivendrecht station is a railway station tower of the Dutch railway company NS in the community Ouder - Amstel, near the village Duivendrecht, south of the Dutch capital Amsterdam. The station is served by trains of long-distance and local transport and the Amsterdam Metro. It serves mainly as a railway junction and is used daily by about 22,500 passengers.

History

The station was opened in May 1993, when the " Ringspoorbaan ", which is part of the railway line Weesp - suffering, was released on the section between Amsterdam RAI and Weesp railway stations for traffic. The station was built to allow interchanges between the stations of Ringspoorbaan and crossing railway line Amsterdam - Arnhem. From the beginning, stopped at the station and the metro lines 50 and 54 held after introduction of the ICE International from Frankfurt am Main to Amsterdam Centraal this occasionally at the station. 2006 Overpass Utrechtboog was completed. Since then, fewer trains on Duivendrecht because the branch already south of the station towards Amsterdam Zuid and Schiphol branches.

Location

The station is located about 8 km southeast of Amsterdam Central Station. It is located near the Amsterdam ArenA in the community Ouder - Amstel and borders the district of Amsterdam Zuidoost.

Station

The station is a railway station tower, which houses six tracks on four platforms. On the upper level are located on a central platform of a railway metro and one for local or long distance, it may be that switched between trains and the Metro quickly and directly.

On the lower level of the station houses two tracks on two side platforms. The station is also still under the lowlands of the metro line 53 direction " Gaasperplas " cut. However, this does not stop at the station.
