Duke's Chair

The Duke of Carinthia chair played an important role in the inauguration of the Dukes of Carinthia.

It was probably built in the second half of the 9th century and is located on the customs field. The Duke chair was mentioned as sedes Karinthani Ducatus occasion of the establishment of Duke Hermann of Spanheim in 1161 for the first time in a document.
