Duke of Lennox
The title " Duke of Lennox " was awarded twice in the Peerage of Scotland for the Stewart family. The Duchy refers to the district Lennox in Stirling and was formerly the county Lennox. The second Duke was appointed Duke of Richmond; this title became extinct with his death. The fourth Duke was also appointed to the Duke of Richmond, this time both titles extinguished with the death of the sixth Duke.
In 1675, the Duchy of Richmond and a month later became established the Duchy of Lennox for Charles Lennox, an extramarital son of King Charles II. 1876 he was also appointed as the Duke of Gordon, so that he was now the owner of four Duke item ( including Aubigny- sur- Nere ), more than any other person in the kingdom.
