Dukes County, Massachusetts

The Dukes County is a county located in the state of Massachusetts in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Edgartown.

Geography

The county has an area of ​​1272 square kilometers, of which 1003 square miles are water. It is bordered to the north by Barnstable County.

History

Dukes County was formed in 1695 from Martha's Vineyard and the Elizabeth Islands, which belong to 1691 to New York.
