The Duluth International Airport ( IATA: DLH, ICAO: KDLH ) is the airport of the city of Duluth on Lake Superior in St. Louis County in the northeast of the U.S. State of Minnesota. The Duluth International Airport is the main hub of the air transport of the metropolitan area Twin Ports in Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.

The permanently open airport is operated by the Duluth Airport Authority of the City of Duluth.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) classifies the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems belonging airport by the number of 147 793 departing passengers as a primary commercial service airport.

On the grounds of the airport there is a base of the Air National Guard of Minnesota.

Location

About the Airport Road and Rice Lake Road, the airport with 9.8 km southeast to the city center and the port of Duluth is connected. Not far from the airport runs of U.S. Highway 53, which runs from Duluth to the Canadian border at International Falls.

Equipment

The airport has two start and runways, each having a concrete and asphalt paving. There is a passenger terminal with jetways and baggage handling system with two exit points. The car rental companies Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, and National have bases in the reception building.

At the airport a total of 86 aircraft are based. Of these, 49 single-engine and multi-engine propeller 10 machines, three jet aircraft and three helicopters. The Air National Guard stationed at their base 21 aircraft.

Of the 162 aircraft movements per day, 69 percent of general aviation and 17 percent are attributable to the air taxi traffic. Scheduled flights account for one percent. There are also about 14 percent military aircraft movements.
