Dumfries (Scottish Parliament constituency)

Dumfries was a constituency of the Scottish Parliament. It was introduced in 1999 as one of nine constituencies the election Region South of Scotland, which was re- cut by the revision of constituencies in 2011 and renamed in South Scotland. Here, the Dumfries constituency was abolished. Large parts of the old constituency went over in the new constituency of Dumfriesshire, the western border areas and the western part of the town of Dumfries was the county Galloway and West Dumfries slammed. The constituency comprised parts of Dumfries and Galloway Council Area and sent a deputy.
