Dunakeszi
Dunakeszi is a city on a small area Dunakeszi in Pest county in Hungary. Covering an area of 31.06 km ² live 40,441 inhabitants ( 2013).
History
- In the discovered here Burgus Dunakeszi is a small Roman military camp. It secured as of late antique Ländeburgus monitoring a Danube crossing at Pannonian Limes.
- In 2002, a re-excavation at Ländeburgus Dunakeszi was carried out under the leadership of the Hungarian archaeologist Zsolt mrav.
Traffic
- The M2 motorway, which begins in the north of the state capital Budapest, leads past Dunakeszi and ends at Vac.
- The M0 motorway runs south, 5 km away.
- Dunakeszi lies on the railway line Bratislava -Budapest.
- A non-public airport is located at an altitude of 126 meters ( = 413 ft). The unpaved runway has the dimensions 800 mx 500 m.
