Dundee Whaling Expedition

The Dundee Whaling Expedition (1892-1893) was an Antarctic expedition for the purpose of exploring the whaling grounds.

On September 6, 1892 a whaling company from Dundee decided to take a risk and sent four steam-powered whaling ships - the Balaena, Active, Diana and Polar Star - to look into the Weddell Sea, right whales.
