Dundgovi Province

The Dand Gobi Aimag (Mongolian Дундговь Аймаг, Mittelgobi ) is an aimag ( province ) of Mongolia in the center of the country.

Attractions

  • In the provincial capital Mandalgobi the Aimagmuseum and inhabited by 30 monks currently monastery Dashgimpeliin Khiid. It was destroyed in 1937 and opened in 1992.
  • In the county seat Erdenedalai, the second largest town in the aimags, the monastery Gimpil Dardschaalan Khiid. It was built in the late 18th century and does not destroy one of the few monasteries of Mongolia 1937.
  • The temple Süm Khökh Burd, 65 km north-west of Mandalgobi to the lake Sangiin Dalai Nuur located.
  • The monastery Ongiin Khiid the river Ongiin Gol Sum Saikhan ovoo currently understood in the reconstruction.
  • The Rocky Mountains Baga Gadsryn chuluu with rock paintings and caves, about 50 km north of Mandalgobi.
