Dunes (hotel and casino)
The Dunes was opened on 23 May 1955 as the tenth hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. 1961 and 1979 respectively, a tower was built with additional rooms.
In November 1992, The Dunes was sold to the Mirage Resorts Inc. for U.S. $ 75 million. On January 26, 1993, it was closed because it could not compete with the modern mega-resorts.
On October 27, 1993 The Dunes was demolished by an explosion. As a framework program to blow up a large firework was ignited.
Today, the hotel Bellagio is at this point.
