Dung (Doubs)

Dung is a municipality in the French department of Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Dung is on 321 m, about 4 km west of the city of Montbéliard (air line). The village extends to the west of the basin of Montbéliard and north of Doubstals, in the Talniederung of Rupt, north of the ridge of Mont beard.

The area of ​​3.22 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the undulating countryside north of Doubstals. The area is crossed from north to south from Rupt flowing through a relatively wide Talniederung and provides drainage to Allan and thus to the Doubs. Flanked the valley of predominantly forested heights: In the east of the Bois Georges ( to 400 m), in the west of the Bois de Miémont (403 m) and in the northwest of the Bois de Sainans, on the 435 meters, the highest elevation of manure is achieved.

Neighboring communities and manure are Issans Allondans in the north, Sainte -Suzanne in the east, the south and beard Présentevillers and Saint- Julien- lès -Montbéliard in the West.

History

Since the Middle Ages manure was ruled territory of the Counts of Montbéliard. With the annexation of that county, the village came in 1793 final in French hands. Today manure is part of the municipal association Communauté de communes de la Vallée du Rupt.

Population

With 651 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) manure is one of the small communities of the department of Doubs. Once the population has consistently had in the first half of the 20th century in the area of ​​280-310 people, a significant population increase has been recorded since the early 1960s.

Economy and infrastructure

Dung was well into the 20th century, a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) embossed village. The water power of the Rupt was used early for the operation of a mill. In addition, there are today some of the local small business enterprises. Meanwhile, the village has also changed into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who do their work in the agglomeration Montbéliard.

The village is located off the major thoroughfares on a secondary road that leads from Bart after Aibre. The nearest links to the A36 motorway is located at a distance of about 8 km. Further road links exist with Montbéliard and Présentevillers.
