Duo Vela

Duo Vela is a Spanish Pianistenduo consisting of the sisters Eulalia ( born November 11, 1970 in Barcelona) and esters Vela López ( born January 15, 1972 in Barcelona). They first emerged in 1993 as a duet in different cities of Spain, Belgium, Austria and the Philippines.

Training

The sisters studied piano with MJ Crespo, chamber music with L. Maffiotte and notes with X. Boliart and C. Guinovart at the municipal conservatory of her hometown. They had further piano lessons from the master pianist Bikis T., J. Chapuis, P. Eicher, A. Besse, F. Gevers, RM Kucharski, B. Meyer, Y. Mitsui, S. Möller, L. de Moura, K. Ogawa, p Puche and A. Delle Vigne. They received grants from the Spanish Culture and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, by the Luxembourg Ministry of Culture, where she attended an international course for musical perfection (1997), the AIE to participate in an intern Piano Tutorial in Loos Village Vienna (1998) and for the realization of perfection of chamber music studies with Ángel Soler (1999 and 2000).

Work

Eulalia and Ester Vela López deal with contemporary music and work closely with various composers. Thus various works have been premiered by them. Together with the late mezzo - soprano Anna Ricci they entered 1993 in Miró Foundation in Barcelona and 1996 in Miró Foundation in Palma de Mallorca. Since 1993, they work with the " Juventudes Musicales de Barcelona" together.
