Duppigheim

Duppigheim (German Düppigheim ) is a commune with 1555 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. She is a member of the Communauté de communes de la Région de Molsheim - Mutzig since December 2002.

Location

Duppigheim has direct road links to Entzheim and Duttlenheim.

History

On June 1, 1974 merged with piston Duppigheim home. Since 1 January 1983 both form independent communities again.

On August 11, 1939 accident, Jean Bugatti, son of Ettore Bugatti automotive manufacturer, fatal in Duppigheim (10 km from the Bugatti factory) during a test drive with a Bugatti Type 57 C "Tank". With over 200 km / h Jean had a cyclist swerve suddenly came out of a box and hit it against a tree. At the accident site in Duppigheim today stands a stele.
