1987 Dura was acquired by Wickes.

1990 sold to Wickes Dura Hidden Creek Industries.

In 1994, the Orscheln Company was acquired.

In 1996, the name in Dura Automotive Systems has changed.

1999 Dura acquired the car seat business of Meritor.

In 2006 the company took advantage of a CH11 - bankruptcy to become competitive again by a reorganization of the company. The U.S. subsidiaries placed themselves under the protection of the CH11 - American insolvency law while the international subsidiaries were able to work unchanged.
