Durcet

Durcet audio? / I is a commune with 267 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Orne in Basse-Normandie region.

Geography

Durcet located ten kilometers south-east of Flers. The municipality is crossed by the Gine, a tributary of the Rouvre. The village lies on a hill.

Etymology

The name is derived from the stony ground.

Culture and sights

In the crypt of the rebuilt in the 20th century church are the remains of the Margravine of moth Ville ( Seine- Maritime) and the Anzeray family. The existence of the castle is occupied since the Middle Ages. Today it is a red brick building, surrounded by a small park.

Every last Saturday of September takes place the Saint- Côme- hard. There they presented their animals and costs the local specialty: the " little goose ." Every year also the Printemps de Durcet takes place, a celebration of poets and singers.

Economy and infrastructure

In addition to agriculture, there is obtained in Durcet the cabinet-making as an important industry. Durcet has a soccer field and a multipurpose room, in which, among other things, table tennis can be played.
