Durdle Door

Durdle Door ( dating back to Old English thirl, borehole ',' bore ') is a natural arch of limestone at the tourist region known as the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO-listed World Heritage section of the southern English chalk cliffs. The rock formation is located in the county of Dorset near West Lulworth. The site belongs to the field of comprehensive about 50 square kilometers Lulworth Estate, which is privately owned by the wealthy landowning family Welds, but is open to the public.

Tourism

Durdle Door is regarded as a landmark in this part of the coast, and the beach immediately beside it is a popular swimming spot. 200,000 visitors annually recorded at the site, which is also several times as a venue for film scenes and music video clips, such as for Shout by Tears for Fears, served since 1967.

At Durdle Door of the South West Coast Path passes, a wide trail that goes along the entire Jurrasic Coast among others.
