Durella

Durella is a white grape variety from Italy. It provides very acid- driven wines ( high malic acid content) with a strong character and a tart fruit flavor. This makes the whites of Durella - grape to a good basis for the production of sparkling wine. The name probably comes from Durella the hard shell of the berries because duro hard to say in Italian.

Durella is mainly grown in the Veneto region. Previously, the base wines were exported primarily for the production of sparkling wine to Germany.
