Durrat Al Bahrain

Durrat Al Bahrain is after the Amwaj Islands, the largest artificial island in Bahrain.

Conceived to 6 billion U.S. dollars project will consist of a total of 15 large artificial islands, with a total area of ​​20,000,000 m2. It includes, among other things, six atolls, five fish- shaped islands and two crescent-shaped islands. The plans for the finished islands contain 5-star hotels, a golf course with 18 holes, 12 bridges and a Yachthafen.Der marina will extend over three islands and a land area of ​​approximately 700,000 square meters. The planned cost of this amounts to about 1.3 billion U.S. dollars.

The marina is a joint project of Durrat Khaleej Al Bahrain and Tameer, one of the leading developers of the GCC region. The marina is the first of its kind and size in the Middle East.

Work on the project in 2008 interrupted due to inconsistencies in the salary. Workers who were housed at the place of construction work camps, have gone on strike, demanding higher wages and complaining about poor living conditions. The strike was called off later and successfully completed the entire development project.
