Dussack
The Dussack, also Dusack, Dussak, Dussägge or Tisacke (from Czech. Tesák, " cutlass " ), is a late medieval, one-handed cutting and stabbing weapon (see saber) with a curved cutting edge. He was probably in the 15th century in Europe.
Description
The Dussack consists of a very rough machined blade into an oval hole was cut at the rear end just to accommodate the four fingers of the lead hand. It has a blunt edge and tapers to. So you saved the craft complex assembly of individual parts of different materials. To increase the grip, the grip area was often wrapped in fabric or leather straps.
Use
The Dussack was hardly be used as a weapon of war, as it was too heavy and unwieldy. Mainly it was used as a duel weapon or fencing schools. The Dussack became very popular, people of different social classes practiced in use. When practicing, however Dussacke were used mostly made of wood.
