Location

History

The opening drive of the S- Bahn Rhein -Ruhr took place on the route between Garath and Ratingen-Ost in September 1967. Thus, the S- Bahn Rhein -Ruhr was the first new commuter rail system in Germany after 1945.

On June 5, 1989 Michael Gorbachev met during his visit to the state capital in his special place at Düsseldorf Central Station in Garath and was received by the state government.
