Dutch hip hop

Nederhop is a musical genre consisting of the elements Neder - for Netherlands or Dutch language as well -hop for Hip - Hop. Nederhop produced in the Netherlands and / or use of the Dutch language.

History

The first notable success was recorded in 1986: the Dutch rapper duo MC Miker G & DJ Sven ( Lucien Witteveen and Sven van Veen ) reached the English-language titles Holiday Rap ( a sample of Madonna's hit Holiday ) international, but only short-term attention. In the Dutch language area, the group Osdorp Posse interpreted ( after the town of Amsterdam Osdorp a municipality ) since 1989, however, twenty years successfully Nederhop in her native language. Osdorp Posse produced 1992 the first completely sung in Dutch hip- hop album.

The style reminded generally first on U.S. old school hip-hop, but was coined in the 1990s by artists such as Osdorp Posse and Westklan on one side and Extince on the other side rather individually.

Presence

The first set of Westklan Extince and foundations are increasingly differentiated, more artists make the leap into the charts. Mentioned are names like Ali B, Yes-R, Keizer, Darryl, Kempi, Sjaak, Appa, Salah Edin and Baas B & Lange Frans.
