Dutch Navy Museum
The Naval Museum in the Dutch city of Den Helder is operated by the Netherlands Navy ( Koninklijke Marine). It is part of the museum harbor Willemsoord.
Exhibition
- Rammschiff Schorpioen (built in 1868). The Rammschiff Schorpioen served from 1868 to 1906 the coastal defense of the Netherlands and was then used as an accommodation ship.
- Minesweeper Abraham Crijnssen (built in 1936). The Abraham Crijnssen 1942 could escape from the Japanese from the Java Sea to Australia by being disguised as a small jungle island.
- Submarine Tonijn ( Potvis class) (built in 1966). The submarine Tonijn ran from 1966 to 1991 with a 67 man crew.
- Bridge of the frigate De Ruyter (built in 1974)
The ships are open to visitors.
