Duvie Westcott

Duval " Duvie " Westcott (born 30 October 1977 in Winnipeg, Manitoba ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since 2012 in the Hamburg Freezers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga under contract.

Career

Duvie Westcott began his career as a hockey player with the Omaha Lancers, where he was active in the 1997/98 season in the United States Hockey League. Even during the season, he joined the crew of the University of Alaska Anchorage. After a year's break with ice hockey, he joined from 1999 to 2001 the team of the St. Cloud State University. On 10 May 2001 the defender was given as a free agent contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets, for whom he played in the next seven years in the National Hockey League. In parallel, he played more than 100 games for the farm team of the Blue Jackets, Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. The lockout during the 2004/ 05 NHL season bridged Westcott at JYP Jyvaskyla of the Finnish SM- liiga in.

For the season 2008/ 09 Westcott signed with Dinamo Riga of the newly formed Continental Hockey League. For Latvians, he scored in 53 games, then scored two goals and gave 17 assists. He then moved on to their league rivals HK Dinamo Minsk. In 2010 he undertook for two years with the ZSC Lions. In July 2011, his contract was terminated and Westcott moved within Switzerland to the Kloten Flyers.
