DVB-IPTV
DVB- IPI / DVB - IPTV is an open DVB standard for the transmission of audio and video services over the Internet protocol. IPI stands for Internet Protocol Infrastructure.
DVB- IPI is a manufacturer-independent standard ETSI ( European Telecommunications Standards Institute ). He is a possible, and currently the favored standard for transmission of IPTV. He is currently provided by the public-service broadcasters for the transmission of their programs via the Internet Protocol. Right now, the public service broadcaster in the VDSL network of Deutsche Telekom ( Telekom Entertain ), in Arcor and HanseNet network are unencrypted broadcast via the standard.
DVB- IPI was indeed specified in 2001, currently there are no televisions that support the standard.
Technology
In DVB- IPI, the video images are digitally compressed ( MPEG -2 and MPEG -4 AVC), and then obtain an IP framework for the distribution over IP networks. DVB- IPI addition to the transmission of free linear TV also supports so-called "container". This implement access by DRM for the transmission of pay-TV and video-on -demand ( VoD).
