History

DVCPro is a variant of digital video standards and was developed in 1995 by Panasonic for use in the electronic reporting.

Technology

In contrast to standard DV system uses DVCPro 4:1:1 color subsampling according to the standard, both for 50 -Hertz, as well as for 60 - heart - versions in order to prevent generation loss. Sound tracks recorded with 16 -bit, 48 kHz. In addition, the track width at DVCPro is increased by 8 microns to 18 microns, which reduces the risk of drop-outs. Two longitudinal tracks provide support for timecode. The tape is faster by 80% in comparison to a standard DV. This results in a shorter recording time and the unavailability of a long-play mode.
