Dylan (1973 album)

Dylan is Bob Dylan's thirteenth studio album. It was released in November 1973 by Columbia Records.

Dylan was produced with little participation by Bob Dylan himself, as outtakes were used from the recordings for the album Self Portrait and New Morning in the first place. The release date of the album was accompanied by Dylan's switch from Columbia to Asylum Records and the announcement of its first major tour since 1966.

After his release, it was seen as an attempt by Columbia Records, again to beat as much money from the outgoing artist or even as a kind of "revenge" because you thinned out the Dylan - sales market, as it is only two months before the release of Planet Waves appeared a new album. Dylan is made of two pieces that. During the work on Self Portrait, and seven pieces that have arisen during the work at the New Morning

Also why the album received very subdued criticism. It reached the top 17 of the U.S. album charts and was awarded a gold record. It was the first Dylan album that did not make it into the British charts, and even though his albums are usually successful in Europe than in the U.S..

Dylan is one of the few albums that has not yet been published in North America on CD, but it is available for download on iTunes. The album was released in Europe in CD format under the title of Bob Dylan (A Fool Such as I).

Another shot of Spanish Is the Loving Tongue found on the 1971 released B-side of Dylan's single Watching the River Flow.
