Dynamics (physics)

The dynamics (Greek dynamis = force ) is the branch of mechanics that deals with the action of forces. The dynamics are in engineering mechanics further subdivided into statics, which deals with the equilibrium of forces on bodies unaccelerated, and kinetics that captures the relationship between movements and forces. In physics, this distinction is unusual. Here, under the dynamic description of the motion of bodies under the influence of forces understood in the broader sense, the time behavior of a system and the equations of motion used for its description.

In the engineering sciences, the dynamics of the solid body is understood in contrast to the fluid dynamics under Technical dynamics substantially. The Technical dynamics has the following sub-areas of wider significance:

  • Dynamics of Machines
  • Structural Dynamics
  • Vehicle Dynamics
  • Rotordynamics
  • Robot dynamics
  • Satellite dynamics
  • Technical dynamics
