Dynode

A dynode being an electrode of a series of individual electrodes in a photomultiplier. Over the entire series of dynodes, an accelerator voltage is applied, so that between a pair of the divided voltage corresponding to the number of drops and electrons are accelerated from the dynode on the dynode. Meets an electron to the surface of a dynode so more electrons are emitted and the current is amplified.

A dynode satisfies both the properties of a cathode and an anode, as it emits electrons and absorbed.
