Dysbiosis

Dysbacteria (from the Latin Bacillum / bacteria: rods, sticks, stick and gr dys: Determination word for "bad, bad, disturbed " ) refers to a disease process, by a qualitatively or quantitatively different from the normal bacterial flora in the gut or mouth and throat is triggered. A fault only of the intestinal flora is also known as dysbiosis. This leads to increased formation of fermentation and putrefaction products. The reason for the disturbance of the natural, dependent on the pH of the intestinal section antagonism between fermentation and putrefaction bacteria is considered. Main representatives of the fermentation bacteria in the colon are Escherichia coli and of the putrefactive bacteria Proteus vulgaris and Pseudomonas pyocyanea.

A non- disease-related, undisturbed balance of bacterial flora is called Eubakterie.
