Dysostosis

Dysostosis eingedeutscht of dysostosis ( dys = bad [ here = miscarriage ], AltGr, . Os = bone, lat ) is a localized disorder of bone formation or bone Wachstumes ( ossification ). It is based on a congenital developmental disorder.

Depending on the location of the failure in terms of bone formation sites and the stage of bone formation ( ossification ) in which a failure occurs, they are divided into: intramembranous D. in cleidocranial dysostosis ( lack of bone formation ) or dysostosis craniofascialis ( premature ossification the cranial sutures ); D. endochondral occurring mainly epiphyseal or metaphyseal but multiplexed as in the dysostosis may also be connected with periosteal bone formation disorder. The Latin names can be seen that these deformations occur in the skull, and were named after the impact on the face or cranium.
