Džemal Bijedić

Džemal Bijedić ( born April 22, 1917 in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, † January 18, 1977 in Sarajevo ( plane crash ) ) was a Yugoslav politician of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia ( LCY ).

Biography

Bijedić was initially 1967 to 1971 President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He was then on July 30, 1971 Chairman of the Federal Executive Council (Prime Minister) of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia ( SFRY) and took over at the same time until December 3, 1971, the office of Federal Secretary (Minister ) of Internal Affairs in the Central Government. The Office of the Prime Minister he held until his death in a plane crash. Successor was then Veselin Đuranović.
