E-mail address harvesting

An e -mail harvester or spambot is a program ( bot ), which specifically after e- mail addresses ( phone numbers ) or Blogs searches the internet to send to this mail (spam). Some web crawlers are able to websites on the World Wide Web, as well as newsgroups and chat conversations to search. Because e- mail addresses follow a standard format, spambots are relatively easy to write.

In order to avoid spam e- mails, various methods are used that will hold a spambot from detecting e- mail addresses. These are described in more detail in the article spam.
