E. Wallace Chadwick

Edward Wallace Chadwick ( born January 17, 1884 in Vincennes, Indiana, † August 18 1969 in Chester, Pennsylvania ) was an American politician. Between 1947 and 1949 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

In 1890, Wallace Chadwick came with his parents to Chester in Pennsylvania. He attended the local high school and then studied until 1906 at the University of Pennsylvania. After a subsequent law degree from the same university in 1910 and was admitted to his lawyer, he began to work in Chester in this profession. He also became involved in the banking industry. In 1945, he was Chief Judge of the Guardianship Court in Delaware County. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1946, Chadwick was in the seventh election district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of James Wolfenden on 3 January 1947. Since he was not nominated by his party for re-election in 1948, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until January 3, 1949. This was marked by the events of the early Cold War.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Wallace Chadwick practiced as a lawyer again. In 1954 he was principal adviser to a committee of the U.S. Senate, who examined censorship accusations against Senator Joseph McCarthy. He died on 18 August 1969 in Chester.
