E4 European long distance path

European Route E4 is to connect the south-western point of continental Europe (Cape St. Vincent in Portugal) in a large arc with the lying in the southeastern island of Cyprus.

Today, the path of Tarifa on the southern tip of Spain along the Catalan coast to the Pyrenees, which are east of Andorra exceeded proceeds. About France and Switzerland, Lake Constance is achieved. In the Alpine border region between Germany and Austria two difficulty options are offered. The German Alps variant falls mostly along with the Maximiliansweg. The E4 is a total length of about 10,450 km by far the longest of all European long-distance hiking trails.

In Switzerland, the E4 is marked with an additional panel to the usual yellow signposts there ( name: Pyrenées - Jura - Balaton ).
