Eagle Pass is a city in Maverick County in the U.S. state of Texas and the county seat of administration ( County Seat). Eagle Pass is located on the Rio Grande ( Río Bravo del Norte span ), which forms the border with Mexico is here, across from Piedras Negras in the Mexican state of Coahuila.

History

Eagle Pass was the first American community on the Rio Grande. In 1871, the Maverick County and founded Eagle Pass elected to the seat of county government.

On April 24, 2007 entered a tornado over the city, which cost human lives and extensive damage left behind. He paralyzed public life for a week.

  • Patric Schmid (1944-2005), founder of the record label "Opera Rara ", which was committed to rarities of musical theater, was born in Eagle Pass.
